Page 4 of 8 Planting Plan for a Window Box This design is for a small window box situated on an east-facing kitchen windowsill - the client wanted it to look good all year long. We choose plants that don't grow too tall to ensure the view from the kitchen isn't spoiled. Emphasis in on foliage throughout the year. During the winter the fabulous Cyclamen coum brightens up the short, dark days. For late spring and early summer there's the lovely flowers of the periwinkle. Later in the summer the pink Allium flowers last for weeks. And for year round foliage there's the magnificnet dark plum coloured leaves of Ophiopogon which looks great against the vairiegated leaves of the periwinkle.
