This client's garden is divded into several 'rooms' each having a different purpose. The gravel garden is close to the house and is to be used mainly for hanging out the washing - but it had to look good too. A small paved area (bottom right) was designed to house a rotary drier in its central point. The drier can be collapsed when not in use. To add interest to the gravelled area, a few perennials are planted as well as occasional stepping stones. A path to the left, with three plant-covered archways invites you further up the garden, while steps to the top right lead up to an area for outdoor entertaining.
